We have “gained access”/We have “obtained our introduction” into this grace in which we stand.  The word access or introduction was used of a ship being ushered into a safe harbour and it was also used when someone was ushered into the presence of royalty. Mephibosheth was ushered into the presence of King David. Through Jesus we have been ushered into the grace of God.
